So how will the the Toshiba AT200 aka Toshiba Excite attract consumers? This from a Toshiba spokesperson, “Although consumers are telling us they want thin and light tablets, we also are hearing they do not want to sacrifice usability to get there. Lighter and expected to be a lot easier to carry around, The Toshiba Thrive AT200 isn’t like the Thrive. The biggest difference is the AT200 doesn’t use NVidia Tegra 2, Toshiba has opted for an OMAP 4430 at 1.2GHz processor from Texas Instruments and POWERVR SGX540 graphics this time. There’s also a 5MP rear and 2MP front cameras, 16 to 64GB of internal storage, and a battery capable of 8-10 hours of “normal” use...

As far as availability Toshiba continued, “The AT200 is currently on the U.S. product roadmap; however, general availability, pricing and detailed specifications of this product have not yet been announced. To keep you updated, the standard HDMI and USB ports have been replaced by mini and micro equivalents and the the slip-resistant rubber back makes way for a smooth, aluminum shell.
