(UPDATE
: Unfortunately the video has been deleted but we found this shorter version, see below…)

Apple has located familiar faces in the park, Southpark. The popular cartoon has animated the recent ‘Apple situation’ as far as tracking users, it being a misunderstanding and everything.

Yeah that’s right the Apple iTrack scandal goes Southpark. Slightly satirical, exactly what you’d expect from SP, enjoy

To Apples credit they have posted a Q and A you can check out. Question number one, why is Apple tracking the location of my iPhone? Apple’s answer: Apple is not tracking the location of your iPhone. Apple has never done so and has no plans to ever do so. The list continues and can be seen at apple dot com. Some of the good news for Apple lovers:
A Software Update, free iOS is coming in the next couple of weeks that:

  1. reduces the size of the crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspot and cell tower database cached on the iPhone,
  2. ceases backing up this cache
  3. deletes this cache entirely when Location Services is turned off.

In the next major iOS software release the cache will also be encrypted on the iPhone. Take a look at my earlier post on what to do for a quick fix to avoid being located and for info on how this all started.
