DigiTimes has dropped another bomb amidst the influx of gadgets at the CES. According to DigiTimes, Apple is already poised to ship the iPad 3 this coming March. Industry sources say that the next-generation iPad will launch with a full HD display functionality – QXGA 1536 x 2048 pixels – and longer battery life. We’re not sure about the other hardware specifications as we are hearing that everything else will remain the same. If this is true, then the price of the iPad 2 will probably be lowered down to $399 – a delectable price that will go in par with the other competing tablets in the market today. Apple is quite good in marketing strategies. We’ve seen tablet vendors like Motorola, Sony and Samsung showcasing their own flagship tablets for this year at the CES. But Google, according to rumors, could also launch its very own tablet in Q2 this year – one that could compete at the entry-level, like the Kindle Fire.
So, if the iPad 3 will be coming this year, that’s great news! But an iPad 4 comig this year? That’s sounds unreal. But DigiTimes also believes that the 4rth generation iPad will be arriving as well this year sometime in October. It will be completely redesigned at 9.7-inches and the hardware specifications will be supercharged. With windows 8 and Intel’s Clover-Trail-W platform set to arrive in Q4, an iPad 4 makes sense.
