Hewlett Packard has done it, they’ve jumped on the Tablet Express…officially, sort-of (still waiting for the HP TouchPad, perhaps the convertible is setting up the Touchpad for June?). HP ‘Drops the top’ w/ the HP EliteBook 2760p Convertible Tablet PC. Not your conventional tablet that comes with the detachable keyboard, the Elite changes into one by dropping the top down the same way an owner of a convertible sports car does. What you have with the Elitebook is tab-fashion with serious horse power: Intel Core i5 and Core i7 2nd Generation Intel Core i processors with TurboBoost. Remote control is available as well with Intel vPro technology. Thanks to a press release TODAY from the HP family in Palo Atlo we know the starting cost is $1,499. Although you can’t find it at Bestbuy, Amazon.com and etc yet it will be available in the US. HP provided a phone number on their UK site, suggesting it might not be available directly from HP, we called them but to no avail. Check it out for yourself here.

Check out the specs below, but first the video:

I’m sorry, HP has been manufacturing Convertible Tablet PCs for YEARS. This is not HP “Jumping onto the tablet express” Just do a google search for “HP tablet PC” And you’ll see.
On the business/enterprise market, they have the 2710p, the 2730p and the 2740p
On the consumer end they have the entire Tx1000, Tx2000, Tx2500, Tx2z, Tm2 lines.

It’s just painfully ignorant to claim this is HP jumping onto something. They’ve been into tablet pcs before they were cool.

HP has done it.. right.. no USB3

“jumped on the tablet express”? Seriously?  This 27xx tablet series has been around at least 4 years . . .  🙂
