After the iDisplay has been available for the Ipad, the company Shape Services now released the app also for the Android platform. iDisplay lets you connect tablet for example the Samsung Galaxy Tab as a (second) monitor for a windows or a mac computer. You can find the app from now on in the Google Market and price is $4.99. Also a 7-day demo is available for download.

How it works:
You download and install the app to your tablet, and the correct Desktop application for your Operating System. Connect both devices to the same network and your android device finds the desktop app automatically. Now you can use your tablet as a second screen. Even though performance could still be improved you could for example, put a couple windows onto the display – on get your ‘multi tasking’ on.

Full Developers Description
Turn your Android smartphone or Tab into a second monitor for your Mac or PC!
iDisplay is designed to increase your productivity by maximizing the viewable area on your main monitor.

Ideal for multi-taskers who want to increase their efficiency, iDisplay expands the viewable area of a user’s main monitor by moving other needed programs such as IM, Twitter and news gadgets to an external display using their Android tablet or mobile device. This frees up your main monitor to only display programs for which more view space is needed.

Download iDisplay today and add a 2nd monitor to your PC or Mac for under $5!

Key features include:
* Extend the display – spread the desktop over both displays and drag items between the two screens.
* 100% Compatible – works with the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Google Nexus One, or any other Android tablet or smartphone on the market.
