Featured at this years Frankfurt IAA, an international car show, the BlackBerry PlayBook as gotten literally a front seat. But there maybe some trouble in the financial books, it has been reported that Research In Motion is preparing to report its fiscal second-quarter earnings and things don’t look so good. Some analysts forecast better numbers than Wall Street predicted although sales are low for recently released BlackBerry 7. QNX, the company behind the product, has Apple and Google to complete with and that’ll be a big mountain to climb, their only product on shelves is the BlackBerry PlayBook. In the video from the Frankfurt Car Show, you’d think the future looks promising. So why is RIM is losing so many executives?

Trusted analysts suggest its too late for BlackBerry PlayBook and RIM. According to analyst Brian Blair from Wedge Partners the BlackBerry PlayBook is dying slowly, “Last quarter RIM talked about shipping 500,000 units but did not speak of sell-through for obvious reasons,” the analyst wrote in a note to investors on Wednesday. “Channel fill could turn up another decent shipment number this year in the 500,000 – 700,000 unit range but we believe sell-through has been weak enough that that number will trend down over the year and RIM will likely send the PlayBook into the same graveyard as the HP TouchPad.” Renault, the French automaker, more than likely disagrees, why else would they outfit their concept car with one, enjoy the video:
