Google I/O 2011: Chromebook coming June 15th to US, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Netherlands

Google I/O 2011 Day 2:

Yesterday’s Google Music beta, Movies has been officially launched. Today’s highlight are the Google Chromebooks running Chrome OS! On June 15th Acer and Samsung will release their Chromebooks in US and 6 other countries – UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Netherlands. Each of the devices will be available with 3G or as wifi-only version. The Samsung Chromebook wifi only version will be priced at $429, the 3G/wifi version at $499 the Acer starting and $349 and up. In the US, Amazon.com and Bestbuy.com are Google’s official Chromebook distribution partners and should have the device in stock soon. All Google I/O attendees get a Chomebooks for free but also have to wait for an email to claim their Chromebook, but no before June 15th.

Samsung and Acer will be the first with running Chrome OS.


Chomebooks for business will be available with a $28 monthly subscription per user.


Chomebooks for education will be available for $20 monthly subscription per user.


It will be released June 15 in USA, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Netherlands.
