September has been a busy month in the courtroom. First in France, Samsung filed a complaint for infringement of three mobile phone technology patents in its iPhone and iPad tablet computers. Now their battle to have as much opportunity as Apple to compete worldwide has touched down in Australia. “To defend our intellectual property, Samsung filed a cross claim for Apple’s violation of Samsung’s wireless technology patents”,were the words from Samsung spokesman Nam Ki-yung that sparked the legal fire ‘down under’.

The timing of this is pretty interesting, very soon a decision will be made regarding the future of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia, maybe its an attempt to keep the lawyers swamped with paperwork keeping the Samsungs product on shelves as long as possible. After the court ruled in Germany, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 remained in shelves for a short time after. Either way, time is the only teller in this situation.
