New App Released! Your iPad has just gotten a lot more handy while watching TV. The applause goes out to Umami. The Umami TV app for the iPad is free, let’s get that out the way. Knowing that there’s a free app a click away might not have convinced you to check this app out yet. If you watch TV these days, this app will become, as Umami put it, your TV companion. By listening to your TV Umami syncs with the show you’re watching and then gives the 411 and more about the show. Using fingerprint technology via sound waves the app recognizes what it hears. Once synced you’ll get photos, bios, news, gossip and conversation while you watch. Umami is able to sync live or recently aired TV shows from major networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, USA, TNT, MTV, Comedy, History, Nat Geo, Discovery, Food and many more). You also get a link going straight to the official show page, fan site, Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia and any other source the show might have. Umami does a little more then tell you about the shows you can comment real-time, talk trash, praise the show what ever you like. Check out the video after the break:
