Abracadabra! Now you see it and now you don’t. I’m referring to the highly anticipated Gmail App. There was this movie, ‘The Good, The Bad and The Ugly’ and the Gmail App scored two out of three. Before it was released Google touted the new app for having great features. The features were receiving notification badges for new messages, reading your mail with threaded conversations, organizing your mail by archiving, labeling, starring, deleting, and reporting spam and more. Google then performed the Gmail App ‘Disappearing Act’. Three hours of serious issues and Google pulled the Gmail App back to the drawing board. Thanks to Twitter we know the deal, a Google engineer tweeted that the released version had a bug that failed to live up to the hype. Features simple didn’t work for instance push or badge notifications, when loaded an error pops up and states Google is working to solve the issues and will update the app soon. The Gmail App was outfitted for iOS4 Apple products. The iPad version splits the view to read messages and check your inbox at the same time but we will have to wait to test the app. The sooner the better.
