In an attempt to spark slumping sells due to the popularity of games on smartphones and tablets, Gamestop president Tony Bartel explained to GamesIndustry that they are exploring the production of their own Gamestop tablet. The company had 6,450 locations in 2009.
Gamestop’s tablet will support apps but their main goal is to stream video games on their tablet. You should also expect to see new games specifically designed for play on their tablet.
The slate should have Android Honeycomb 3.x on board and will be Gamestop branded. It is believed that we will see a special controller for this device but the rest of the specs for this gaming tablet are still a little fuzzy. We will have to wait a while longer before we get our hands on more information on this gaming tablet.
