RIM just launched the beta of the Native SDK for BlackBerry Tablet OS. Developers will be able to benefit from a deeper API set by coding in a C/C++ environment. One advantage of the Native SDK is that it supports accelerometer, device orientation and POSIX (Portable Operating System Interface for Unix) compliant libraries that will enhance developers ability to port games currently on the market.
Developers will be able to use OpenGL ES 2.0API to build visually stunning 2D and 3D games for BlackBerry PlayBook. By harnessing the power in the BlackBerry PlayBook developers will be able to construct high performance, multi-threaded games. Watch the video below to get an idea of the interface and graphics that can be build on OpenGL ES 2.0API.
QNX® Momentics Tool Suite is part of the Native SDK. Memory profiling, application debugging, and memory usage statistics are achieved with QNX Momentics. It helps developers debug OpenGL applications.
