The company Haier unveiled a new tablet model in China, the new Haipad tablet. The device will be available in 5 different colors and Haier has launched its own app store as well which provides more than 15,000 apps to Chinese consumers. The specs of this tablet are not quite clear yet, but what we do know is that it comes with a 7 inch touchscreen, dual camera, 3G and a Samsung 1GHz processor. The tablet’s features focus more on Social Media and movie streaming, rather than games. Despite the “older” choice of Android version this tablet will have takers in Asian markets since Haier is a trusted household brand there. Honeycomb would have been great but Haier chose to go with the older Android 2.2 in a modified local version.
Haier Haipad will launch in August and it comes with social networking features and movie streaming, while gaming has not been the focus of the developers over at Haier. Even though the older Android 2.2 version is on board, this model is still appealing for its most likely low price and 3G ability.
