More and more companies block their websites for iPad users now also the New York Post blocked their website for iPad Safari users…

New York Post readers who browse their website for free using the Apple iPad and the Safari browser are from now on forced to use the paid NYPost.com app. Yes! When you type in NYPost.com on your iPad the website is not functional using the pre-installed Safari browser. You will be forwarded to a message for iPad users saying :

Thanks for coming NYPOST.com editorial content is now only accessible on the iPad through the New York Post App.

The New York Post is not the only one to force  you to buy a subscription to view their news content. For example Bild, a german tabloid which is the best-selling tabloid in Europe and has the sixth-largest circulation worldwide [1] also force their iPad users to purchase their Bild HD App for the iPad for € 0.79 which is about US$ 1.13 from the german iTunes App Store. Let us get this straight, Bild is published from Monday through Saturday, everyday 0.79 adds up and even a subscription is like a New York Post’s App subscriptions not half as attractive as the regular $0.00 you were paying when regular surfing their site. New York Post’s prices now start at $6.99 per month and you have the option for paying $39.99 for six months or $79.99 for the year. You can download the app for free in the App Store but you must sign-up for one of those three subscription levels before viewing any news articles.

How-To View Blocked Sites On iPad:
Simply use the another browser than the built in Safari and continue –for the time being– browsing the NYPost.com website for free. The NYPost.com website works just fine on the new Opera Mini browser, Skyfire browser as well as in the Lastpass browser. First two are free for download in the App Store (Opera Mini, Skyfire, Lastpass Browser ist working fine.) Unfortunately the browser switching does not work for Bild.de anymore and is now also blocked for the browsers mentioned above.
