Screams have been answered from the Android fan base, well we knew it was coming because Google told us at Google I/O on May 10th. Upgrade Me! Similar to being at Micky D’s with a Happy Meal on deck. Android 3.1 video hits the streets thanks to a Motorola Xoom peak-a-boo video from Netbooknews. In plain English: The long awaited Android 3.1 upgrade is now available. Adjustments have been made to ‘make the user interface more intuitive and more efficient to use’, it’s faster and smarter. All in all it’s a better friend to the user than Androids version.

Users can do a lot more with the ultimate Android under the hood of their device. Users can interact with the application to control powered accessories such as robotics controllers; docking stations; diagnostic and musical equipment; kiosks; card readers; and much more. Users can now scroll the list of recent apps vertically to see thumbnail images all of the tasks in progress and recently used apps, then touch a thumbnail to jump back into that task. Users can expand widgets both horizontally and/or vertically to include more content, where supported by each widget. Users can now attach almost any type of external keyboard or mouse to their Android-powered devices, to create a familiar environment and work more efficiently.

Google’s purchase of Android back in 2005 could have Google in every ones pockets, literally due to the fact that The Android operating system is the world’s best-selling Smartphone platform. I could go on and on all day about what Android 3.1 offers but why read the book when you can watch the movie. Our friends at Netbooknews.com has Android 3.1 running a Motorola Xoom. Check out the Hands-on walk through from a Netbooknews.com staff writer:

The Ice Cream Sandwich is the upcoming version of Android. It’s a combination of Gingerbread and Honeycomb into a “cohesive whole”, according to Google. It was announced on May 10, 2011 at Google I/O and will be released in Q4 2011.
