The folks over at OnLive are defining gravity as they introduced another brilliant application called Onlive Desktop straight from CES 2012. Onlive Desktop aims to bring the entire Microsoft Windows 7 experience to iPad users. Essentially the app will give you virtual access to a Windows 7 PC. Now, iOS users can gain access to Microsoft’s Office 2010 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more. An unnamed browser (not Internet Explorer) will also be included in the package. We’re really not sure if Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox will be used as well. OnLive plans to take the game higher this year by releasing an updated version that can run user-installed software applications. OnLive Desktop will be available via free download but so far the date of release has not yet been announced. The free app will include 2 GB of storage capacity and you can upgrade that to 50 GB for just $9.99 a month.

While many are a little sceptical about OnLive’s new app, the gaming company behind the highly successful OnLive for Android thinks that the wind is picking up their sails. One question remains though. Will Apple ever allow such app to join in?
