Shih knows what is talking about, a couple of years back Acer has also encountered troubles when entering the notebook market. So it seems they are prepared to hold their breath a little longer.
Shih indicated, Acer’s directors discussed strategies to simplify operations and consented that the company will concentrate their product development onto Acer’s more profitable products. Also their personnel will not be downsized, instead will free resources be strategically optimized invested. If the adjustments lead to success, Acer will expand tablet PC and smartphone business operations, the company said.
