Archos pushing hard… Earlier this year Archos presented their G9 tablets (Android Honeycomb), 2 months later we saw the two (Android Gingerbread powered) slates Archos Arnova 7 and 10 G2 launching in Hong Kong. Now we see turbo versions of the G9 tablets pop up. Instead of the slower 1.0 GHz dual-core processor Archos provides a faster 1.2 GHz TI OMAP dual-core processor for the new Archos 101 G9 “Turbo”, which is already available in Europe.

The slate comes with Android 3.2 Honeycomb on board, a 10.1″ 1280×800 display with 16GB of internal storage. Basically you will not miss any features you find on more expensive devices, although Archos tablets only sport 512MB of RAM instead of the 1GB most other slates come with.

Also planned is a 1.5 GHz version, which is still in the works and is rumored to hit the streets later this month, we’ll keep you updated on that. Not enough, Archos plans to update their G9 tablets to Android 4.0 in Q1.

Confused? Let’s get it straight… Archos has the G9, the G9 Turbo, the Arnova series, and even a G9 G2 was seen at the FCC. Without making it too complicated, basically the original Archos 80 and 101 G9 series have now been improved with a faster dual-core processor and are available now in Europe under the “turbo” title.
