The Sony Tablet S is ready to challenge Apple in the tablet war. It features a dual-core processor with two cameras. The 16GB version will set you back $499 and the 32GB version will run you $599. It weighs in at 1.3lbs and measures 9.5” x 6.8”.

Those are the basics now let crack it open and check out what is on the inside. It uses standard Phillips screws and all screws can be removed with a Phillips #0 bit. Not to mention that it is easy to open the case. Additionally its battery can be replaces. It packs a 5000 mAH Li-ion battery that can be changed. The front panel and display are fused together. Additionally there is a place on the motherboard to mount a 3G or 4G card. Inside the Tablet S you will also find an integrated processor rather than a separate processor chip. Finally by looking inside the Tablet S with find several unique chips. Some new chips in this tablet are the UEI U122 remote control chip which allows the Tablet S to function as an IR remote. Also inside is the Audience earSmart A1026 Voice Processor which is something unique as well.
