The Jetstream which was first available at some AT&T locations yesterday offers great hardware but the price is a killer. With the Jetstream you get HSPA+ with 4G support. Additionally you get a 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor with dual cores. It will feature a 10.1 inch screen and run on Android 3.1 while featuring a digital pen or stylus. A powerful 7,300 mAh unit battery is also a strong feature.

AT&T’s exclusive agreement on the HTC Jetstream is likely to lead to an uphill battle in trying to draw customers away from the iPad 2. Jetstream was first available at AT&T yesterday but its price tag of $849.99 with no contract which will be a hard sell with customers. Many will just buy an iPad 2 which is priced at $629 with no data commitment. The 32GB version of iPad 2 is $729.99 and the 64GB version is $829. Additionally a 2-year plan with the HTC Jetstream will set you back $699.99 as well as $35 a month for data access. So as you can see you’d save $70 with the iPad 2 minus all of the connectivity i.e. HDMI. Not to mention the added memory expansion options with the micro HDMI as well.

As you can see the price is quit steep. If you are willing to spend that much the Jetstream is out on the market. I will really be surprised if the HTC Jetstream moves off the shelf quickly at this price.
