Previously rumor had it that Acer would come out with a 4G Android Tablet. AT&T previously announced in March that they would bring the 4G Acer Iconia Tab A501 onto the market but that never saw the light of day. But Amazon has just launched a pre-paid order list for the no contract version. We are still waiting on the shipping date. We will have to wait to see when it will be mailed out.
The 16GB Acer Iconia Tab A501-10S16u model is currently marked at $499.99. For this low price, I consider the A501 one of the cheaper 4G 10 inch Android tablets soon to be on the market. A pricey alternative for those who want a 4G 10 inch Android tablet is the Samsung Galaxy 16GB Tab 10.1 4G LTE offered by Verizon, though a contract free one will set you back $200 more than the similar 16 GB Acer Iconia Tab. The Acer Iconia Tab A501 4G is worth the investment considering the $200 savings.
