Toshiba Thrive costumers were complaining about the device not waking up from sleep mode. Also a lot of comments about the rebooting problems the device has popped up lately.

To fix this bug, you will have to perform a hard reboot which isn’t a nice way to get your tablet going. A couple of people are even noting that their Thrive is waking up all on its own!

Finally Toshiba has announced that it will release a software update this week that resolves the sleep/resume problem. You’ll be able to grab the fix through the Thrive’s Service Station application. Along side the fix will be an update featuring some enhancements for multimedia playback.

The Toshiba Thrive slate is a 10.1-inch Android 3.x (Honeycomb) tablet, which is powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and features a 2-megapixel front camera and a 5-megapixel rear camera. The slate also has a HDMI and USB ports, and a micro SD slot. What makes the Toshiba Thrive kind of special is the replaceable battery and also the fact that the Thrive is the first tablet to have a full-sized USB port to take advantage of Honeycomb’s USB Host capabilities (to connect a mouse, keyboard etc.) The Toshiba Thrive is available in a 16GB model retailing for $480 and 32GB model and an 8GB version for $430 from Amazon.
