The HTC Puccini was previously rumored to be a 4G LTE slate similar to a larger version of the HTC Flyer 4G 7-inch tablet for Sprint, but it will likely be an HSPA+ tablet for AT&T’s network. This has been confirmed unofficially by HTC’s chief financial officer. HTC will be coming out with a 10-inch Android Honeycomb slate with a launch date in September or October. The Puccini is possibly a dual-mode HSPA+ and LTE device, implementing the faster LTE network in available locations and replying on the 4G HSPA+ speeds where LTE is unavailable.
Similar to other Android devices the HTC Puccini will support a mulit-touch capacitive touchscreen. The area in which Puccini will try to distance itself from other Honeycomb tablets is with its digitizer pen/stylus which allows users to draw and doodle more accurately as well as write. Word on the street has it that it will be equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera along with a front-facing camera. There is a good chance that we will hear more about the Puccini in September with it possibly being made available for purchase in late September or early October.
