It’s no secret that the iPad 2 is the tablet to compete against, prices are dropping everywhere to boost sales and Hewlett-Packard isn’t any different. HP has followed suit and recently lowered the prices by 100 dollars of its TouchPad. So now the HP TouchPad price of both the 16GB and 32GB tablets are now cheaper by that margin bringing the prices down to $399 and $499. Rumor has it that the price change was brought on by the recent reduction of the Acer Iconia Tab A500 last month, additionally the planned launch of Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich tablet PCs and the availability of Nvidia Kal-EI quad-core chips is also reason to make room on the shelves for upgraded hardware across the board. The HP Touchpad is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core APQ8060 processor, but don’t be surprised to see 1.5GHz version soon to compete with Nvidia Kal-El and of course the iPad 2.
