In June 2010 Apple first got criticized, as the producer of the Iphone with iOS 4 for changing it’s privacy policies, so that Partners could record location data of Iphone and Ipad users.
What was unknown until last week, was that the location data is automatically recorded and kept permanently on the device. Also the data is unencrypted stored on your computer each time it gets synchronized with iTunes.
With a small, couple of KByte large Iphone/Ipad-Tracking-Tool the location data can now be viewed by everyone who has access to the mobile device or the computer the device gets synced with. On a OpenStreetMap the tool shows the Mac-Tool including a time-stamp and exact position of the last months.
How it works:
Download and start the tool. Choose a Backup file and the tool automatically provides you with the tracked data shown on a map.
Download:
Mac Version
iPhone Tracker V. 1.0
Windows Version

How to avoid being tracked in the first place check our earlier post here.
